Celebrating LGBTQIA+ Pride in Atlanta

Behind the ScenesPublished on October 20, 2020

Since the 1970s, people have been coming together all over America to celebrate Pride Month in June each year.  Pride is a commemoration of the Stonewall Uprising of 1969 and celebrates the work it has taken, and acknowledges the work that is still needed, to achieve equal justice and equal opportunity for LGBTQIA+ Americans.  In Atlanta, GA, home of Convoy’s second headquarters, however, they do things a little differently.  Several years ago, Atlanta Pride was moved from its traditional dates in June, due to park and drought regulations in the city, to October, where they now host the nation’s largest celebration of National Coming Out Day every year.

This month, Convoy employees who are part of our LGBTQIA+ community in Atlanta teach us about what pride and identity mean to them.  Check out this video to hear what they have to say:

If you are an LGBTQIA+ owned trucking company and would like to learn more about how you can start hauling with Convoy, or if you currently haul with Convoy and would like access to additional opportunities, please reach out to supplierdiversity@convoy.com or visit our supplier diversity page for more information.
